G'day Sriram,

Thanks for visiting!

I'm really glad you are getting some value from the 30 Day participants, it's been a fantastic experience for all of us, it's really nice to hear that it is inspiring you too!

We've stopped the eBay app's for some very important reasons. When I did this experiment over a year ago things were different on eBay. It's now a complete joke. eBay Australia are at war with our ACCC (monopoly watchdog) over their requirement of PayPal as the only payment method. This in itself is unnaceptable. Their requirement for no digital downloads raises the cost of distribution (espeically when certain "power sellers" are allowed to keep selling their digital downloads) and finally the customers, who were always "high maintenance" seem to now, generally and with a few exceptions, be of the worst type. They want 48 hour delivery, have second thoughts hours after purchasing and so on. FIVE of the people we sold to have demanded their money back, which we did without any issues. However they attempted to keep using the products (which means they lied to PayPal) and screamed (and threatened legal action - laugh!) when we barred their keys in the next up date.

As sellers can no longer leave negatives for buyers - but buyers can leave sellers negatives - the system is broken to the point of being a total joke.

Finally, I'm a bit tired of pure B2C sales. It's getting harder and harder to maintain these customers and to many of them are barely literate, rude and completely unreasonable. The product being developed here is only borderline B2C with most of the marketing to be aimed at B2B and community groups. As I've said a few times, and will expand in the weeks and months ahead, this product is the basis for a series of products. It's a starting point for what I'm aiming ultimately to be a pure B2B application with a markup way beyond this one. Time will tell. :-)

David,
Greetings from Jamaica. Congratulations on your progress so far. It is very inspiring to read your posts and the other 30 day participants as well, it is a definite confidence booster.

In one of your earlier posts i remember you mentioning about some apps that you were writing to sell on ebay, how do it go? When time permits do you think you could write a post or two about that? i suspect a lot of folks would be interested too.

Enjoy your time off with your family.

Kind regards
